Regular Season Round 111: Springfield A. - Z*N.Mexico T. 101-121

Date: March 26, 2011
Jamine Peterson didn't stay in college long enough to become a household name, but everyone at Saturday's NBA Development League game at the MassMutual Center knows him now. The former Providence College swingman scored 23 of his game-high 40 points in the first half to lead the visiting New Mexico Thunderbirds to a 121-101 victory over the Springfield Armor before 4,489 fans at the Armor's final home game of the season. Peterson - nicknamed "Greedy" - turned pro last year after his sophomore season, in which he led the Friars in scoring at 19.6 points per game. He came out too late to be considered for the 2010 NBA Draft, so he is playing in the D-League with the hope of being selected this June. "He could pretty much do what he wanted to," Armor coach Dee Brown said. "Once guys get rolling like that, someone's gotta step up and defend him." Craig Brackins, whom the Philadelphia 76ers sent to Springfield for the third time this season Thursday, scored 23 for the Armor, whose home record finished at 7-17. Jerry Smith added 22 and Lance Hurdle 20. *Courtesy of www.masslive.com
