Semi-Finals Game 2: Keflavik - KR 87-105
Date: March 30, 2011
KR stepped closer to the Final after a road win over Keflavik. KR thus grabbed 2-0 lead in the semifinal series. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Keflavik was better in third quarter 25-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-27 charity shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Keflavik was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: 011 Sports) notched 31 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and the former international swingman Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) supported him with 17 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Even a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds by the former international center Gunnar Thorsteinsson (204-88) did not help to save the game for Keflavik. American guard Thomas Sanders (191-85, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Duran International) added 18 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
