Regular Season Round 1: Bayamon - Humacao 78-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in . Second ranked Bayamon faced 3rd placed Humacao. Host Bayamon (1-1) defeated guests from (1-1) 78-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Humacao. It looked good early as Humacao took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bayamon had a 19-8 second period charge getting the lead and Humacao was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-78. It was a good game for American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. American-Nigerian forward Ikechukwu Ofoegbu (205-85, college: SMU, agency: Paris Global Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Brandon Robinson (202-81, college: Auburn, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Humacao. Five Bayamon and four Humacao players scored in double figures. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Despite that victory Bayamon went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Humacao. Bayamon will play against league's leader Coamo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Humacao will have a break next round.
