Leader Barcelos delivered the seventeenth victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Electrico FC (9-12) 69-55. The hosts were ahead by 10 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 22-7 run, which allowed them to win the game. Barcelos dominated on the defensive end, holding Electrico FC to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Electrico FC's 28. Barcelos forced 21 Electrico FC turnovers and outrebounded them 48-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for the former international forward Pedro Silva (198-79) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 24 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Joao Moreira (200-85) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Barcelos players scored in double figures. Swingman Jorge Afonso (192-79) answered with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Cape Verdean forward Denis Neves (197-78) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Electrico FC. Electrico FC's coach Andriy Melnychuk rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Barcelos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-4 record. Electrico FC at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Barcelos will play against Sangalhos (#5) at home in the next round. Electrico FC will play against Maia Basket and hopes to get back on the winning track.
