Second Stage Round 8: CEZ Nymburk - BK Decin 93-72

Undefeated leader CEZ Nymburk delivered the fifth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked BK Decin (1-5) 93-72. The game was mostly controlled by CEZ Nymburk. BK Decin was better in second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BK Decin was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. International guard Pavel Slezak (186-84) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. The former international forward Radek Necas (204-80) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Four CEZ Nymburk players scored in double figures. International forward Pavel Houska (201-84) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 19 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in the effort for BK Decin. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CEZ Nymburk (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position in A1 with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. BK Decin lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Novy Jicin. CEZ Nymburk will play against league's second-placed BK Prostejov on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BK Decin will play against Novy Jicin in Novy Jicin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
