Second Stage Round 8: NH Ostrava - BK Prostejov 59-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Ostrava. Second ranked BK Prostejov faced 4th ranked NH Ostrava. Guests from Prostejov (5-1) smashed host NH Ostrava (1-4) 80-59. The game was mostly controlled by BK Prostejov. NH Ostrava managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Kyle Landry (206-86, college: N.Arizona) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) chipped in 20 points. Canadian forward Andrew Spagrud (203-85) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Marek Stuchly (196-75) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Prostejov have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in A1 with 5-1 record having 34 points less than leader B&W Opava. NH Ostrava at the other side keeps the fourth place with four games lost. BK Prostejov are looking forward to face league's leader CEZ Nymburk at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. NH Ostrava will play against BK Pardubice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
