The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Perth Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to New Zealand Breakers' 42 and made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded New Zealand Breakers 47-26 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by New Zealand Breakers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Kevin Lisch (188, college: St.Louis, agency: Warren Sports International) stepped up and scored 29 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Matthew Knight (204-85, college: Loyola Marymount) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Perth Wildcats players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Gary Wilkinson (206-82, college: Utah St.) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and New Zealand swingman Thomas Abercrombie (198-87, college: Washington St.) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
