Quarter-Finals Round 3: Starwings - Geneve Lions 71-53

Starwings avoided elimination as they bruised Geneve Lions at home court. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Starwings's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-9 extending their advantage to 18 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Geneve Lions to just 6 points in second quarter. Starwings dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Geneve Lions' 22. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Tony Brown (193-79, college: Arkansas St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!). His fellow American import forward Alex Thompson (208-85, college: Iowa St.) helped adding 9 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks. The best for the losing side was American forward Marcus Sloan (205-82, college: TCU) with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Congolese forward Max Kouguere (198-87) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Geneve Lions' coach Michel Perrin rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win.
