Regular Season Round 30: CFBB - Sorgues 69-97

There was no surprise in Paris where 18th ranked CFBB (4-25) was crushed by sixth ranked Sorgues (17-12) 97-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sorgues. CFBB was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Sorgues forced 21 CFBB turnovers. The best player for the winners was Central African forward Francois Pehoua-Tara-Ngoyi (196-83, college: Hampton) who scored 24 points and 6 steals. Center Xavier Pasut (200-84) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Hugo Invernizzi (196-93) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Jean-Charles Livio (202-93) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively. CFBB's coach Jacques Commeres already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Sorgues have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Brest. CFBB lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Sorgues will face Saint Chamond (#15) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CFBB will play against Lievin Basket.
