Important game to mention about took place in Guaynabo. Fifth ranked Mets (3-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Caciques (2-3) 83-80 on Monday evening. The hosts were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 8-point deficit before their 25-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman Angel Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and American center Shaun Pruitt (208-85, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) who added 12 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four Mets players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso, agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with 31 points and American-Nigerian forward Ikechukwu Ofoegbu (205-85, college: SMU, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Mets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Capitanes. Caciques at the other side keep the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Isabela. Mets will play against Indios (#8) in Mayaguez in the next round. Caciques will play at home against the league's leader Quebradillas and hope to get back on the winning track.
