Regular Season Round 5: Quebradillas - Coamo 85-82

The most exciting game of round 5 in the BSN took place in Quebradillas. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Maratonistas (4-2) to first ranked Quebradillas (6-1) 85-82 on Tuesday evening. Maratonistas trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 30-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 82-85 at the end of the game. Quebradillas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Maratonistas' players. International center Peter John Ramos (222-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and international guard David Huertas (196-87, college: Mississippi) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Christopher Vega (182-84) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Johwen Villegas (193-85, college: FIU) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maratonistas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quebradillas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record. Maratonistas at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Guaynabo. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
