The game without a history. Tampereen Pyrinto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to UU-Korihait's 32. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Kenneth Lowe (192-80, college: Purdue) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Tampereen Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Tampereen Pyrinto's coach Pieti Poikola felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Lawrence Wright (195-84, college: Bradley) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) added 9 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals in the effort for UU-Korihait.
