Stjarnan caught up with KR in the championship series. They eked out a tough home victory tonight. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-20. But KR won second period 32-28. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Stjarnan won last quarter 26-26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 29 personal fouls committed by KR helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. FYR Macedonian forward Jovan Zdravevski (197-80) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Justin Shouse (180-81, college: Mercyhurst) chipped in 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) during the contest. Five Stjarnan players scored in double figures. American guard Marcus Walker (186-86, college: Colorado St., agency: 011 Sports) responded with 34 points (!!!) and 6 assists and the former international guard Brynjar Bjoernsson (191-88, college: Francis Marion) scored 32 points.
