The game in San German was also quite interesting. Third ranked Vaqueros (5-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Atleticos (3-5). Vaqueros managed to secure a 6-point victory 89-83 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 53-46 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Vaqueros made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Vaqueros made 7 blocks. Atleticos were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Five Atleticos players scored in double figures. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vaqueros moved-up to second place, which they share with Coamo. Loser Atleticos dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Vaqueros will face Gallitos (#9) in Isabela in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atleticos will play at home against Indios in Mayaguez and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
