Regular Season Round 7: Humacao - Arecibo 59-77

Everything could happen in Humacao at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Capitanes and 6th ranked Caciques had identical 3-4 record. But Caciques were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from Arecibo 77-59 on Tuesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Caciques was better in second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caciques to just 6 points in first quarter. It was a great evening for international guard Larry Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Global Sports Plaza) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 4 assists. American-Panamanian guard Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: George Washington, agency: SportsTalent) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side British V.Islands center Kleon Penn (211-86, college: McNeese St., agency: Paris Global Sports) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 13 points. Capitanes maintains fifth place with 4-4 record. Caciques at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Capitanes will face league's leader Quebradillas at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caciques will play against Maratonistas (#4) in Coamo.
