Regular Season Round 27: Galil Gilboa - Hapoel Holon 87-75

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Hapoel Holon (11-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Galil Gilboa (17-10) 87-75 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Galil Gilboa. Hapoel Holon was better in fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Galil Gilboa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Marco Killingsworth (202-82, college: Indiana) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Power forward Warren Carter (205-85, college: Illinois) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Rich Melzer (203-79, college: Wisc.-RiverFal., agency: Court Side) who recorded 28 points and 8 rebounds and forward Kasib Powell (201-81, college: Texas Tech, agency: Court Side) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-10 record having nine points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Holon lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
