The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 36-21 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Guandong Tigers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. 28 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tennessee-Martin) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. International swingman ShiPeng Wang (197-83) contributed with 29 points for the winners. Guandong Tigers' coach ChunJiang Li used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) added 25 points and 7 steals in the effort for Xinjiang Flying Tige. Four Guandong Tigers and five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures.
