NBA
1/8 Finals Round 5: Dallas M. - Portland TB 93-82
Date: April 25, 2011
There was no fourth-quarter magic this time, just a pounding that now puts the Dallas Mavericks back in control of their playoff series against the Trail Blazers. Another poor third quarter by the Blazers led to a 12-point lead for the Mavericks that grew to as much as 20 before the Blazers closed the gap some in the final minutes before losing 93-82 on Monday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas. The victory gives Dallas a 3-2 series lead, with Game 6 in Portland on Thursday night. Andre Miller led the Blazers with 18 points, and Gerald Wallace added 16, 10 in the fourth quarter. Dallas rebounded from their Game 4 collapse with a solid all-around effort. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 25 points, and Jason Terry added 20. The Mavericks also held the Blazers' biggest weapons in check. Two days after his amazing performance in Game 4, Brandon Roy was a non-factor. He finished with five points on 2 for 7 shooting in 26 minutes. LaMarcus Aldridge managed just 12 points on 6 for 15 shooting. *Courtesy of www.q13fox.com
