Regular Season Round 3: Waikato P. - Nelson G. 89-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Waikato P.'s (2-2) home victory over bottom-ranked Nelson G. (0-3) 89-75 on Wednesday. Waikato P. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Nelson G.'s 26 and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Five Waikato P. and four Nelson G. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Waikato P. moved-up to fourth place. Nelson G. lost their third game in a row. They still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with OceanaGold N.. Waikato P. will meet at home league's second-placed Wellington S. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nelson G. will play against OceanaGold N. (#9) in Dunedin and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
