Important game to mention about took place in Santurce. Second ranked Vaqueros (8-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Cangrejeros (5-7) 82-79 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cangrejeros. Cangrejeros were ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Vaqueros, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-17 charity shots (94.1 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. The former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. At the losing side international power forward Ricky Sanchez (212-87, college: High School) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76, agency: Paris Global Sports) scored 21 points. Vaqueros maintains second position with 8-4 record behind leader Quebradillas. Cangrejeros at the other side dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. Vaqueros will play against Caciques (#4) in Humacao in the next round. Cangrejeros will play on the road against Mets (#3) in Guaynabo and hope to get back on the winning track.
