Second Stage Round 10: Kvarner 2010 - Djuro Djakovic 84-98

The most shocking disappointment of round 10 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Kvarner 2010 (4-5) to fourth ranked Svjetlost (5-4) 98-84 in the game for the third place. The game was mostly controlled by Svjetlost. Kvarner 2010 managed to win third quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Kvarner 2010 outrebounded Svjetlost 31-19 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Igor Maric (196-85) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Srdan Helbich (205-76) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Franko Filipovic (204-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 17 rebounds and center Matija Poscic (207-85, college: De Paul) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Kvarner 2010 players scored in double figures. Svjetlost moved-up to third place in Group B. Kvarner 2010 lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Trogir. Svjetlost will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kvarner 2010 will play again at home against Svjetlost (#3) in Slavonski Brod and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
