Regular Season Round 11: Humacao - Bayamon 92-95

Important game to mention about took place in Humacao. Third ranked Vaqueros (9-4) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Caciques (7-6) 95-92 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caciques. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But Caciques won second period 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vaqueros players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 assists. American forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: Court Side) accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 19 points respectively for Caciques in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros moved-up to second place. Caciques at the other side keep the fourth position with six games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caciques will play at home against Cangrejeros (#5) in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
