Quimsa was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Obras dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Quimsa's 30 and made 23-of-24 charity shots (95.8 percent) during the game. It was a quality performance for international power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Obras players scored in double figures. The former international guard Julio Mazzaro (190-79) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Quimsa in the defeat.
