Second Stage Round 11: KK Split - Cedevita 66-60

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Cedevita (10-1) on the court of sixth ranked KK Split on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by KK Split 66-60. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cedevita won third quarter 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when KK Split won last quarter 17-13. It was a great evening for swingman Josip Sobin (203-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Guard Ivan Mimica (193-80) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Four KK Split players scored in double figures. American power forward Corsley Edwards (205-79, college: Cent.Conn.St., agency: Impact Basketball) responded with 14 points and the former international swingman Marino Bazdaric (197-78) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Cedevita's coach Aleksandar Petrovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. KK Split (5-6) moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with Cibona. Cedevita at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. KK Split is again looking forward to face league's leader Cedevita in Zagreb in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cedevita's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Zagreb KK Zagreb CO.
