Rather expected game in San German where 6th ranked Atleticos (7-8) were defeated by third ranked Mets (10-6) 86-81 on Friday. Atleticos were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mets made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American center Shaun Pruitt (208-85, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international swingman Angel Luis Figueroa (196-81, college: Dowling, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Panamanian power forward Jaime Lloreda (201-80, college: LSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ryann Abraham (178-87, college: Appalachian St.) added 19 points respectively. Five Mets and four Atleticos players scored in double figures. Atleticos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mets moved-up to second place. Loser Atleticos dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Mets will have a break next round. Atleticos will play on the road against Capitanes (#5) in Arecibo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
