Quarter-Finals Round 1: Osaka Evessa - Fukuoka Rizing 79-66

It looked good early as Fukuoka Rizing took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Osaka Evessa had a 18-8 second period charge getting the lead and Fukuoka Rizing was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-79. They outrebounded Fukuoka Rizing 53-36 including a 41-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Forward Lynn Washington (200-78, college: Indiana) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and swingman William Knight (196-79, college: UCLA) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side swingman Michael Parker (200-81, college: Evergreen St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
