There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Gallitos (7-12) beat 7th ranked Caciques (8-11) in Humacao 77-71. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Caciques won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 22 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and British V.Islands center Kleon Penn (211-86, college: McNeese St., agency: Paris Global Sports) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gallitos maintains ninth position with 7-12 record. Caciques at the other side keep the seventh place with 11 games lost. Gallitos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Atleticos (#4) in San German and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
