Bennet Cantu eased past Varese in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Bennet Cantu. Cimberio Varese was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bennet Cantu made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Bennet Cantu outrebounded Cimberio Varese 39-25 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Bennet Cantu especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Cimberio Varese was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agency: Beo Basket) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds. Five Bennet Cantu players scored in double figures. Croatian guard Rok Stipcevic (188-86) came up with 14 points and Estonian center Janar Talts (205-83) added 5 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Cimberio Varese in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
