Montepaschi cruised past visiting Bologna. The game without a history. Montepaschi Siena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CS Bologna's 26 and made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded CS Bologna 44-21 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lithuanian center Ksistof Lavrinovic (210-79) nailed 16 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winning side and Serbian center Milovan Rakovic (208-85) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. American swingman K.C. Rivers (196-87, college: Clemson, agency: Lanshire Group) came up with 15 points and 4 steals and Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (193-88) added 7 points and 4 assists respectively for CS Bologna in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
