Regular Season Round 27: Panelefsiniakos - Amyntas Dafnis 67-86

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Panelefsiniakos (14-13) was smashed by ninth ranked Amyntas Dafnis (13-14) in Eleusina 86-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Amyntas Dafnis. Panelefsiniakos was better in fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Amyntas Dafnis shot 34 for 47 from the free-throw line, while Panelefsiniakos only scored fifteen points from the stripe. Panelefsiniakos was plagued by 36 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Kostas Vardavas (193-81) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Thomas Nikou (185-79) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Vagelis Balafas (190-85) added 10 points in the effort for Panelefsiniakos. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Amyntas Dafnis moved-up to eighth place, which they share with AEK/Argous. Panelefsiniakos lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Amyntas Dafnis will face Olimpiada (#10) in Patras in the next round.
