We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Guaynabo where second-best Mets (12-9) were defeated by third ranked Vaqueros (12-7) 103-88 on Monday. The game without a history. Vaqueros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Four Vaqueros players scored in double figures. Vaqueros' coach Julio Toro allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman Angel Daniel Vassallo (198-86, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American center Shaun Pruitt (208-85, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Vaqueros keep a position of league leader. Loser Mets dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Vaqueros will face league's second-placed Cangrejeros in Santurce in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mets will play on the road against the league's second-placed Cangrejeros in Santurce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
