Guasave surged ahead in the quarterfinal series versus Guaymas. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Ostioneros de Guaymas won fourth quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frayles de Guasave made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. American guard Kevin Sowell (190-81) fired 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international swingman Alonso Izaguirre (200-76) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sowell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Richard Roby (198-85) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Craig Winder (188-84, college: Texas, agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
