There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Indios (9-13) defeated on the road 3rd placed Quebradillas (12-9) 93-85 on Thursday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Quebradillas won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Indios dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Quebradillas' 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds. International guard Kevin Hamilton (193-84, college: Holy Cross, agency: Limelight Hoops) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Indios' coach Eddie Casiano used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International center Peter John Ramos (222-85) answered with 31 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Joel Jones (196-81, college: Sacramento St.) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Quebradillas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Indios have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Coamo. Loser Quebradillas keep the third position with nine games lost. Indios will have a break next round. Quebradillas will play on the road against Gallitos in Isabela.
