Quarter-Finals Round 2: N.Novgorod - Unics 88-82
Date: May 26, 2011
The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unics Kazan won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for BC Nizhny Novgorod especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Unics Kazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Artem Yakovenko (206-88, agency: RU-Basket Management) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Semen Antonov (202-89, agency: RU-Basket Management) chipped in 14 points. Polish-Swedish center Maciej Lampe (210-85) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Terrell Lyday (190-79, college: BYU) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. Unics Kazan's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
