Guaymas narrowed the deficit in the series edging Guasave at home court. The game was mostly controlled by Ostioneros de Guaymas. Frayles de Guasave was better in fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ostioneros de Guaymas dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Frayles de Guasave's 44. They outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 45-23 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ostioneros de Guaymas players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Frayles de Guasave's players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Craig Winder (188-84, college: Texas, agency: Prossin Sports Management) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach Eduardo Opezzo felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) came up with 17 points and 4 assists and international forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Frayles de Guasave in the defeat. Five Ostioneros de Guaymas and four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures.
