Guasave grabbed 3-1 lead against Guaymas following a narrow road win. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 33-25 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Frayles de Guasave dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Ostioneros de Guaymas' 50. They outrebounded Ostioneros de Guaymas 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Kevin Sowell (190-81) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Rasheem Barrett (196-87, college: Auburn, agency: SportsList Inc.) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Sowell is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Frayles de Guasave players scored in double figures. The former international guard Anthony Pedroza (191-79, college: Oregon, agency: Edge Sports) produced 25 points and 4 assists and American forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Ostioneros de Guaymas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
