Ninth ranked Indios won a double-overtime thriller edging 6th ranked Capitanes by six points 93-99 on Saturday night. The game took place in Arecibo. But the guests from Mayaguez were better at the end. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime then Capitanes managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Indios who were better in double-overtime eventually winning that period 27-21. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Indios forced 21 Capitanes turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Kevin Hamilton (193-84, college: Holy Cross, agency: Limelight Hoops) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 assists (made all of his eight free throws). The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) contributed with 25 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) answered with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the former international center Daniel Santiago (216-76, college: N.Mexico, agency: Priority Sports) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Capitanes. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Coamo. Capitanes at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Indios will have a break next round.
