Finals Game 7: Leiden - Groningen 96-95 3OT
Date: May 29, 2011
ZZ Leiden celebrated DBL title. They overcame GasTerra in an unbelievable three-overtime drama at home court. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But GasTerra won second period 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where GasTerra used huge pressure winning it 19-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually triple-overtime period 26-27. 31 personal fouls committed by GasTerra helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Monta McGhee (198-79, college: Lewis, agency: Basket Law/NM Services) fired 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International guard Arvin Slagter (190-85, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. American guard Matt Bauscher (188-85, college: Boise St., agency: 540 Sports) produced 18 points and 5 assists and the other American import guard Jason Dourisseau (196-83, college: Nebraska) added 23 points and 5 steals respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. GasTerra's coach Marco van den Berg rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
