Finals Game 3: Atenas - Penarol 73-69

Date: May 30, 2011
Atenas celebrated the first win in the title series. They shot down Penarol at home court. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 18-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Atenas made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American power forward James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie, agency: Dream Team Management) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Bruno Labaque (183-77, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 15 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Four Atenas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international forward Leonardo Gutierrez (200-78) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Kyle Lamonte (191-84, college: William Carey, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 18 points and 5 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Penarol's coach Sergio Hernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
