Bennet Cantu rallied past Armani Jeans in the first game of the series. The game was mostly controlled by Bennet Cantu. Armani Milano managed to win second period 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) stepped up and scored 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 8 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bennet Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) responded with 12 points and the other American import guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) scored 12 points.
