Very expected game in Isabela where 10th ranked Gallitos (7-16) were defeated by third ranked Quebradillas (13-9) 79-74. Gallitos were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 47-38 second half run of Quebradillas. The winners were led by international center Peter John Ramos (222-85) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international swingman Joel Jones (196-81, college: Sacramento St.) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Even a double-double of 26 points and 22 rebounds by American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) did not help to save the game for Gallitos. Naturalized American guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Five Gallitos players scored in double figures. Quebradillas moved-up to second place, which they share with Guaynabo. Gallitos lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Quebradillas will play against Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Gallitos will play at home against Capitanes (#6) in Arecibo and hope to get back on the winning track.
