Fifth ranked Cangrejeros (13-10) crushed at home 7th ranked Caciques (10-13) by 18 points 91-73, which is the biggest margin this round. The game without a history. Cangrejeros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Cangrejeros outrebounded Caciques 48-35 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by naturalized Ivorian guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and international power forward Ricky Sanchez (212-87, college: High School) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.) did not help to save the game for Caciques. His fellow American import swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Four Caciques players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cangrejeros moved-up to fourth place. Caciques at the other side keep the seventh position with 13 games lost. Cangrejeros will play against Maratonistas (#9) in Coamo in the next round where they are favorite.
