No shocking result in a game in Isabela where sixth ranked Capitanes (13-11) defeated bottom-ranked Gallitos (7-17) 78-68 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Gallitos was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American-Panamanian guard Danilo Pinnock (196-83, college: George Washington, agency: SportsTalent) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Antonio Latimer (204-78, college: Missouri So.) chipped in 16 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach David Rosario allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Darnell Hinson (186-80, college: Northeastern St.) who recorded 15 points and 8 assists and Argentinian forward Alexander David Galindo (198-85, college: FIU) added 19 points respectively. Capitanes maintains sixth place with 13-11 record. Gallitos lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Capitanes will face higher ranked Quebradillas (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gallitos will play against Indios (#8) in Mayaguez and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
