T71 Didelange made the huge step towards earning the title as they thumped Etzella on the road in the best-of-three series opener. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-62. T71 dominated on the defensive end, holding Etzella to just 6 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Etzella's 36. T71 forced 19 Etzella turnovers. American swingman Denell Stephens (193-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 16 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international power forward Frank Muller (194-88, college: Cuesta JC) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds.
