A very interesting game took place in Lavrio. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed Lavrio (17-12) to seventh ranked Amyntas Dafnis (15-14) 77-74 on Saturday evening. Lavrio was ahead by 18 points after three quarters before a 35-14 charge of Amyntas Dafnis, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 27 Lavrio turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Lavrio helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Kostas Vardavas (193-81) nailed 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) accounted for 13 points and 8 assists. Forward Yiannis Kakiouzis (205-78) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Pavlos Karvounis (180-72) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Lavrio in the defeat. Four Lavrio players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Amyntas Dafnis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lavrio lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost.
