Finals Game 5: Penarol - Atenas 89-83

The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 33-26. But Atenas won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Penarol won last quarter 22-17. 31 personal fouls committed by Atenas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. International forward Leonardo Gutierrez (200-78) stepped up and scored 25 points and 4 steals for the winners and guard Facundo Campazzo (180-91) chipped in 16 points. American forward Gregory Lewis (198-78, college: Winthrop) responded with 31 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import power forward James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
