Regular Season Round 22: Arecibo - Quebradillas 67-65

The most exciting game of round 22 in the BSN took place in Arecibo. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Quebradillas (13-11) to sixth ranked Capitanes (14-11) 67-65 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But Quebradillas won third quarter 18-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Capitanes won last quarter 20-20. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Daniel Santiago (216-76, college: N.Mexico, agency: Priority Sports) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). International guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Capitanes' coach David Rosario used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International center Peter John Ramos (222-85) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Rick Apodaca (192-80, college: Hofstra, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Quebradillas. Capitanes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Santurce. Quebradillas at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Capitanes is looking forward to face Atleticos (#5) in San German in the next round. Quebradillas will have a break next round.
