BSN top team - Vaqueros (16-8) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Caciques (11-14) in Bayamon 74-62. The game was mostly controlled by Vaqueros. Caciques was better in third quarter 24-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Caciques to just 7 points in first quarter. The former international guard Christian Dalmau (194-77, college: Daytona Beach CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Roberto Jose Hatton (187-76, college: Marist) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Vaqueros' coach Julio Toro allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: Cal.St.-San Bernar.) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman James Maye (201-81, college: NC-Greensboro) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vaqueros maintains first position with 16-8 record. Caciques at the other side keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. Vaqueros' next round opponent will be Cangrejeros (#3) in Santurce, which may be the game of the day.
