Rayos de Hermosillo was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 27-13 charge of Caballeros de Culiacan, which allowed them to win the game. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Froylan Verdugo (196-79) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach Jonathan Meza used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Lorrenzo Wade (198-85, college: San Diego St.) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Five Caballeros de Culiacan and four Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures.
