Caballeros de Culiacan dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Rayos de Hermosillo's 42. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. Naturalized American forward Quentin Gonzalez (200-84, college: McNeese St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach Jonathan Meza allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Jesus Lopez (205-83, college: SW Baptist) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and American center Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Rayos de Hermosillo. Five Rayos de Hermosillo players scored in double figures.
